Picture of Hawaiian green sea turtle

"The Hawaiian green sea turtle, or honu, has been recovering steadily during the 25 years it has been protected by the Endangered Species Act."

Many immigrants move to the islands destroying these honu... including white, yellow, orange, and purple people... then lookie here... they save some them return them to the sea:

Destroy... then try to make it up. Totally illogical... to me.

I figured you would... I'm lactose intolerant so I'll just watch you eat while I smoke... :-)

It's always nice to be home... I've live 16 years away from Hawai`i, but I still feel so connect and very at home when I go back... The Aloha is so a part of me, that I can't explain it... Hopefully one day you and I will meet and you'll see what I mean... Alohaz'!

I just love the Honu... there's something about them that makes me feel at eaze when I see them, IRL or in pictures...

If reincarnation is fo'realz'... I hope to be reincarnated as one... I know they have a hard life, but I think it would be worth it to be one... my next choice would be a dolphin...

What people don't realize is that they mess up the eco system to begin with...then they think they can make it better by replacing the loss w/ something else. Or sometimes they think they're doing good and they end up making things worse.

Basically, once you mess it up, there will be a chain reaction, regardless! I believe it was the maki tribe or some tribe similarly named to that whose livelihood always included whale, and they hunted for it. This is off the coast of WA or some place.

The govt. had a ban on these whale killings...I believe it was due to the mass amts. of killing done by the westerner all around the world, so the US took some action, but limiting the killing to this tribe to x amount per year or something.

Now they realize that some type of inbalance exists...something is being depleated or something b/c....get too many whales! Get too many whales b/c the US put a restriction on the amt. of whales killed for this particular tribe that hunts for x particular type of whale.

Like the limu thing my aunty brought up...the FIlipinos rip um off da rocks, not picking um the right way. In turn you'll have one other type of fish(es) who rely on that type of food, and in turn could die off or pick on something else that could be devestating and in return cause a chain reaction eventually ruining the whole eco-system.

I've seen this w/ the mangroves on Molokai by the fishponds as it is encroaching these ancient fishponds, limiting the use of it. The mangroves were brought over to control the run off into the ocean and the fishponds. The run off of course due to the cattle grazing the plant life on the hills which normally would hold the soil.

Shall I continue? *L*
