Kalani's pictures of Oahu: Sorry so big!

Kalani recently returned Home. Home as opposed to "HomeHome." Home is Hawaii to me and will always be Home to me. Got it? LOL I'm only joking. Anyway he went back to Hawaii and took some pictures. Here are two of them:

Notice how ugly they have made her. They raped her of her beauty. It really makes me sad but I still love her. Very very much... and will always love her even though they RUINED HER.

* Edit: I put them behind an LJ cut since they are HUGE pics... and I didn't wanna ruin people's Friends' page/s.

Kauai
What do you think of the conservative stance of Kauai towards this kind of development? I particularly liked it myself. No building taller then a palm tree (except for the old hotel in Nawiliwili that was grandfathered in), limitations on new building, etc. etc.

Rush hour traffic is murder, as you have bumped to bumper traffic from Hanama'ulu to Kapa'a, and Lihue to Puhi. But it's mostly a two lane highway with plenty of traffic lights, and I always thought it was a kind of nice impediment to limit to flow of tourists, to make them happy to go back home... ;-)

in regards to hawaii and development, i sorta wish they would have pushed it together even more close and had DENSITY and not be as spread out as it is. smaller, more dense townships with larger areas of green space inbetween.

honolulu in particular sorta reminds me of the bay area in how it looks, only its a very small island compared to the bay area. at least they left the tops of their watersheds undeveloped for the most part, similar in a lot of ways to the bay area.

Although Molokai is slowly changing, they won't build past 3 stories, but that doesn't mean that they can't still ruin the place by overbuilding. We don't want it to be like another Maui nor O'ahu.
