Cousin Paul DeSilva's Email #1

Reposted with his consent. I would not want to post something without someone's consent especially since he is my cousin:

Cousin Paul sent this to me on March 27, 2006. As I mentioned before in another post he asked me if I was the granddaughter or grandson of a nice person or of a not-so-nice person. It should be obvious that I descend from someone nice since I am nice LOL Well this is what he wrote to me:

"Hello,

It seems that you are my cousin. Are you _______ or _______'s great
granddaughter or grandson? I know you want to be anonymous, so I will expect that you may not want to respond.

That's fine. I just want to say hi.

Paul de Silva"

I responded to him on April 12, 2006 only because I didn't check my email. This is what I sent:

Me:

"I'm __________' granddaughter, Lana."

It gets better. I promise LOL Seriously... under normal conditions and my mother knows this... well under normal conditions I totally ignore anti-Hawaiians even those who are related to me by blood. I cannot help it. I just don't like it when any group of people are disrespected based on their race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, etc. My mother gets mad at me sometimes but I cannot help it LOL

I responded to him via email even though it was about two and a half weeks later. It was only because I didn't check my email. I normally ignore emails from anti-Hawaiians though but cousin Paul respected my Hilo Grandma and Hilo Grandma helped raise me. If it wasn't for her I would not eat Hawaiian food like poi, ake, aku palu, weke, oio, the list goes on so yes... I did respond to cousin Paul. I just could not talk to him like how my sister did at my Hilo Grandma's wake at Malia Puka O Kalani Church. At that time I didn't know how to talk to someone who seemed anti-Hawaiian to me. I mean... what do I say to someone who seems anti-Hawaiian to me? LOL

So yes... I didn't say anything to him when I saw him but my sister did and so did my mother. Well at least I responded to him via email which is odd because my Hilo Grandma would ALWAYS tell us so learn about the computer. She was so afraid of the computer yet wanted us to learn as much as we possibly can about them. It is partly because of her that I have a UNIX server, three desktops, and a laptop.

Anyway I did respond to him... via email. My theory is that my Hilo Grandma had something to do with it. I strongly believe that. In fact I can hear her now telling me, "Lana... don't be so niele" haha
